Painted Memories by Rebecca Campbell..These can replace Camera Brands..

Artist Rebecca Campbell combines realism and abstraction to create paintings that look like pictures from our past. Memories from our childhood get triggered but then are combined with more present day experiences. In her words, “time becomes a circle and it’s both sad and sweet at the same time.
For example a nostalgic moment for me might be triggered by a memory of walking through the forest when I was five but that memory then triggers a hundred others from dancing to Boys Don’t Cry while drinking black label beer in the park when I was a teenager to cutting lavender for the dinner table yesterday afternoon.”

Her storytelling art is created by using huge brush marks that appear almost photorealistic. It’s like you’re looking at pictures from old photo albums and only remembering the emotions that have passed.

Rebecca Campbell was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. She holds a BFA from Northwest College of Art and an MFA from the University of California, Los Angeles.
