Final Image Preview
Create a new file (File>New) of 1600×1200 px and 72 dpi. Select then the Paint Bucket Tool (G) to give to the new file this color - #707070
We’ll apply for this layer the next selection - Filter>Noise>Add Noise
…and also Filter>Render>Lighting Effects
Select for this layer CTRL+SHIFT+U
Make a mouse click on the bottom part of the layers’ panel on Create new fill or adjustment layer>Curves
Take after that the Pen Tool (P) to represent the left half of the logotype’s element we want to have in the end. Its shape may be changed with Convert Point Tool. The color in this case should be selected the black one.
Make a copy of the recent made layer and select the Free Transform option to turn around the copy, placing it the same way indicated below.
Put together both halves into a single rasterized layer. Press Ctrl button to mark out the necessary layers and finally press Ctrl+E. Select for this layer the parameters shown below by making a mouse click on this layer on the layers’ panel. Blending Options>Drop Shadow
Blending Options>Bevel and Emboss
Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:
Select the earlier applied tools (the Pen Tool (P) and Convert Point Tool) to represent several more elements of the same logotype.
Put together the new made elements into a single layer the same way described above with the previous elements, choosing for the new layer the parameters from below: Blending Options>Drop Shadow
Blending Options>Bevel and Emboss
Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:
Next we’ll download from dafont.com the font Transport. Set it and insert the logotype of Harley Davidon company.
Rasterize this layer too. In this case we have to create a new layer, pressing Ctrl button and marking out both layers and then press Ctrl+E. Create a new layer under the new layer that we’ve got and choose for it the Brush Tool (B) to paint it with two colors not getting outside the logo’s edge.
Select the next parameters for the layer with the brush: Blending Options>Bevel and Emboss
Put together now both of the layers, the brush’s layer and the layer containing the Harley Davidson logo. Press Ctrl button, mark out both layers and then press Ctrl+E. Also select for this new combined layer the parameters demonstrated below: Blending Options>Drop Shadow
Blending Options>Bevel and Emboss
Blending Options>Stroke
Using the Pen Tool (P) and the Convert Point Tool, continue representing the logotype. Next we’ll draw another element of the logo from its left side.
The layer’s parameters: Opacity 92%, Fill 0%
Blending Options>Drop Shadow
Blending Options>Inner Glow
Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:
Make a copy of the last made layer and choose again the Free Transform option to turn around the copy, placing it the same way you may see below:
Now we shall draw an opening reserved for the rivet, choosing in this case the Ellipse Tool (U)
The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:
Using the same tool, try to make the rivet itself.
The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Inner Shadow
Blending Options>Bevel and Emboss
Blending Options>Gradient Overlay

Getting a better result is possible if combining together in a group both layers composing the rivet (press Ctrl button to mark out the corresponding layers and hold on the left mouse’s button while taking them on Create a new group option). Make a copy of the represented group and select Free Transform option to place the copy the way demonstrated below:
Create a new layer which must be placed above the Curves layer, but under the logotype’s layers. Using the Pen Tool (P) and the Convert Point Tool, try to make the bottom part of the logotype.
Make a copy of this layer and select the Free Transform option to turn over the copy, placing it as below. The copy’s layer must be situated above the previous layer:
Put together both layers of the logotype’s basis into a rasterized layer (pressing Ctrl button and marking out the corresponding layers and finally press Ctrl+E). Set the next parameters for the rasterized layer: Blending Options>Drop Shadow
Blending Options>Inner Shadow
Blending Options>Bevel and Emboss
Blending Options>Color Overlay
Blending Options>Pattern Overlay (the set of Patterns II textures)
Blending Options>Stroke
Make a kind of deepening under the logotype. Create a new layer above the Curves effect on which we’ll apply the Rectangular Marquee Tool (M) (the circle option) The top part of the circle should be painted with the usual Brush Tool (B) of black color and the lowest part – with the white color.
Blending Options>Inner Shadow
Blending Options>Outer Glow
Now it’s time to represent the layer above the previous made one and choose the Rectangle Tool (U) to dark out a little the background.
The layer’s parameters: Fill 0%
Blending Options>Gradient Overlay
Gradient’s parameters:
Create a new layer and choose for it the standard brush (Opacity of 20%) to dark out the top and bottom parts of the made deepening.
On the last stage, we’ll just introduce the necessary text we want to have on the logotype, keeping the next demonstrated demands:
Select the same parameters for the text’s layers: Blending Options>Inner Shadow
Blending Options>Pattern Overlay
106 … also select the Warp parameter for our text:
Copy out the text’s layers’ effects 2009 by making a mouse click on Copy Layer Style and Paste Layer Style on the layer containing the 106 text.
It’s finished!
