The Hunting Club Concept of Wallpaper Designing with Wooden Textures

This tutorial shows you how to create Hunting Club wallpaper.


Begin by finding a texture representing the wood planks of 1280×1024 px and 72 dpi (I used this texture from cgtextures.com).



Using the Rectangle Tool (U), dark out the picture’s edges:



Set the next demonstrated parameters by making a mouse click on the layer we work with on the layers’ palette. Fill 0%,  Blending Options>Gradient Overlay


Gradient’s parameters:





Make a mouse click on the bottom part of the layers’ palette on
Create new fill or adjustment layer >Hue/Saturation




Next we’ll select the Custom Shape Tool (U) to represent an emblem shield.





The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Drop Shadow


Blending Options>Inner Shadow



Blending Options>Inner Glow





Use one more texture representing the wood planks.



Place this texture above the layer containing the shield:



Press Alt button and make a mouse click between the wooden texture’s layers and the layer containing the shield (on the layers’ palette).

Using the Free Transform option and the Move Tool (V) on the layer made of the wooden texture; displace them the way as for them to be situated symmetrically on the shield.



Select the Ellipse Tool (U) to represent a kind of rivet.



The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Drop Shadow



Blending Options>Outer Glow



Blending Options>Gradient Overlay



Gradient’s parameters:





Make two copies of the layer containing the rivet and select the Free Transform option to place the copies the way shown below.



Using the Rectangle Tool (U), try to represent the top part of the emblem shield.



Next we’ll use the Convert Point Tool to displace the lowest tops laterally.

Blending Options>Inner Shadow





Next we’ll use the very first texture of the wood boards, but applying the Free Transform option, we’ll minimize it as for the dimension of the board to fill the prepared layer. The texture should be processed with the same operations we did when placing the texture on the shield.



Insert now the club’s name. Its name should be written by line, filling the empty space on that place where the shield is situated. (I used this font).





The layer’s parameters: Blending Options>Drop Shadow


Next we’ll use the very first texture for the club’s name too. But the texture’s size shall be processed with the Free Transform option.



Press Alt button and make a mouse click between the texture’s layers and the club’s name (on the layers’ palette).





Next select the Rectangle Tool (U) to represent a white stripe above the club’s name:



The layer’s parameters: Fill 39%, Blending mode-Overlay


Press Alt button and make a mouse click between the layers.





Find a picture having a rifle on it.



Cut it out and situate it on our basic picture:



Using the Free Transform option, turn over the rifle, applying the next indicated parameters:
Blending Options>Drop Shadow




Make a copy of the layer with the rifle and then apply the Free Transform option to turn over the copy and place it the same way shown below:



Next we’ll make a click on the bottom part of the layers’ palette on the next selection:
Create new fill or adjustment layer>Curves




Make two copies of the layer containing the rivet and select the Free Transform option to place the copies the same way indicated below:



Find a shape of a deer, cutting the background it is situated on:



Place it on our shield, but make some corrections on its sizes, applying the Free Transform option.
