In this Photoshop tutorial you will learn how to quickly fake a Matrix effect in your photos, why am I showing you this you say?
because I love the matrix. And for all the other Matrix lovers out there that don’t know much about Photoshop, this will be a fun tutorial and trick to use on your own photos. I’ve tested it out many times and it works like a charm, so now I’ll show you.
Step 1
Go to Image > Adjustments > Black & White (or press Alt, Shift, Ctrl, B for windows and Alt, Shift, Command B for Macs)Step 2
Go to Filter > Texture > Craquelure and mirror the image belowStep 3
Go to Filter > Noise > Add NoiseStep 4
This is where the Matrix effect starts to show more, go to Filter > Texture > Grain.Grain Settings:
Intensity: 55
Contrast: 55
Grain Type: Vertical
Step 5
Go to Spatter > Brush Strokes > SpatterStep 6
Go to Image > Adjustments > Invert (or Ctrl+i)Step 7
Go to Image > Adjustments > Variations, click on More Green once, then OK
To take it a step further Invert it again
Step 8
Now, go to Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation, check Colorize and do the following:Hue: 115
Saturation: 40
Lightness: 0
Step 9
Duplicate Image > Filter > Noise > Median, set the Radius to 10 pixelsAnd finally, down the opacity to the current layer to 25%, right click on the layer and select Flatten Image.
