Heat Vision is now reporting that a deal is done, with negotiations focusing on money and “overcoming the negative perception of this year’s initial installment”.
The studio is hoping to right the wrongs, shooting it in 3D (as opposed to have it added during postproduction, as with the first movie) and tapping some of its top scribes to work on it.
These scribes include Dan Mazeau who worked on The Flash script for Warner Bros. and David Johnson (Red Riding Hood). They will work alongside Green Lantern writer Greg Berlanti on the script ready for filming in February 2011.
Sam Worthington, Gemma Arterton and those who survived are likely to return, and hopefully with a completely new creative team involved the sequel can improve upon where it failed.
