The Woman in Black to begin filming this month

daniel radcliffe woman in black Daniel Radcliffe’s first post-Potter role will be in the British horror film The Woman in Black. The movie follows a young lawyer, Arthur Kipps (Radcliffe), who is ordered to travel to a remote village and sort out a recently deceased client’s papers. As he works alone in the client’s isolated house, Kipps begins to uncover tragic secrets, and his unease grows when he glimpses a mysterious woman dressed only in black.

Deadline
are now reporting that filming will begin later this month, and Ciarán Hinds and Janet McTeer have joined the cast. Hinds (who will be seen with Radcliffe as Dumbledore’s brother in Deathly Hallows: Part II) will play the local landowner who counsels Arthur Kipps as he investigates this Victorian mystery. McTeer (Tideland) will play Hinds’ on-screen wife,
The stage play has been running in London since 1989, and I have been lucky enough to see it twice. It is a great horror story, one that I suspect writer Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass,Stardust) had fun adapting. In the play there are only 2 actors in the whole production (3 if you include the Woman in Black) so it looks like they are expanding the cast a little.
James Watkins will direct (in 2D), and The Woman in Black will be released sometime next year.
